Large-scale Revegetation

CO2 Australia has delivered some of Australia’s largest revegetation projects. We currently manage over 30,000 hectares of land and have recently been appointed a service provider under the 20 Million Trees Programme.

We’ve successfully delivered revegetation projects across over 100 discrete land-holdings, comprising a mix of public and private land. Our ongoing monitoring program indicates long-term tree survival of greater than 79%, demonstrating industry leading practice in revegetation management.

With offices and personnel across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia, we have delivered a diverse range of revegetation projects, including restoration of rainforest in a Queensland World Heritage listed National Park, integration of tree plantings into farming operations in central New South Wales and the Wimmera region in Victoria, and the re-establishment of critical vegetation communities within the UNESCO recognised Fitzgerald Biosphere Reserve of Western Australia.

Over the past nine years, we’ve planted over 40 million native trees across over 26,000 hectares of cleared land, much of it subject to ongoing degrading processes such as erosion, salinisation and loss of biodiversity.

During our biggest years, we successfully planted over seven million tube-stock seedlings across a single six month period. We’ve also delivered large-scale direct seeding programs across numerous sites in the 300 – 600 mm rainfall zones of Western Australia and New South Wales. Our track record establishes us as one of the largest and most diverse revegetation providers in Australia and, arguably, the only private sector provider that can convincingly demonstrate successful delivery of large-scale, multiple-benefit and multiple-stakeholder revegetation projects across four Australian states.
