Project Sea Dragon EIS

CO2 Australia has been appointed to deliver the environmental approvals for Project Sea Dragon, one of the world’s largest aquaculture developments.

The ambitious project, starting at 1,000 hectares of production ponds and located in the Northern Territory, will provide for the large scale production of Black Tiger prawns (Penaeus monodon).

CO2 Australia has undertaken environmental and ecological studies, preparing the EIS documentation, liaising with regulators and ensuring all of the necessary approvals, permits and licences are obtained under Commonwealth and Northern Territory legislation.

The scope of CO2 Australia’s engagement also includes ancillary infrastructure, such as prawn breeding centres, to be located in Darwin, Exmouth, Kununurra and Wyndham.
