An Inconvenient Truth in the classroom

Al Gore’s 2006 climate change documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, has been included in Australia’s new national curriculum. The film will be used in the English curriculum as part of studies around the theme of sustainability. The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority said the film is not a required text but will be used by English teachers to “analyse the way language and emotion can be used to convince viewers of a particular position”.
