CO2 Australia & CO2 New Zealand were proud to participate in Carbon Expo this month, now in its third year. It’s always a great opportunity to make new contacts and reaffirm our status as the leading forest carbon sink developer in Australasia. I remember the first one, held on the Gold Coast not long after I started with CO2 Australia. Delegates and exhibitors alike were bursting with excitement – at last we had an international industry conference attracting serious players and presenters. The CPRS was a real possibility and everyone seemed to radiate a great optimisim about the future of the carbon industry in Australia. Two years on and the legislative twists, turns and delays are resulting in fatigue for some of our carbon colleagues. The Expo attracted over 600 delegates and many learned, international guests. Compared to previous years, I got the distinct impression from quite a few people that the industry is beginning to tire from hearing all about successful carbon trading overseas.
