The Queensland Government’s Land Restoration Fund is a $500 million investment in the expansion of carbon farming in Queensland. The Fund provides farmers, landholders and land managers with the support needed to participate in carbon farming projects on their properties.
Carbon farming projects involving better land management practices offer farmers, landholders and land managers the opportunity to increase the productivity of properties and generate an extra stream of income, which can provide a safeguard during tough times, like droughts.
The second intake of the $100 million 2020 Investment Round of the Land Restoration Fund is now open. Applications close on 15 April 2020.
The Carbon Farming Advice Rebate Program provides land managers with a rebate of up $10,000 to offset the cost of obtaining advice about undertaking a carbon farming projects on their land through the Land Restoration Fund.
Funding up to $10,000 is available to offset the costs of eligible advice from Approved Advisers at a cost of up to $200 per hour (excluding GST), and reasonable travel and accommodation expenses for the Approved Adviser.
The Carbon Farming Advice Rebate Program provides a great opportunity for land managers to get support from specialists to implement carbon farming projects and have tailored help to find the most suitable techniques for their land.

Closing date
Applications close on 30 June 2020 or when available funds have been fully allocated.
