A new award has been announced by those savvy organisers of the global initiative Earth Hour – held on March 26 at 8.30pm – to encourage people to think about long term sustainability beyond one hour of eco-consciousness.
The Earth Hour Awards will go to people who are dedicated to the environment on a daily basis, not just on ‘special’ occasions. You can nominate someone or yourself until February 25. Finalists will be up for public vote in March as the ‘People’s Choice Award’.
There will be different Award categories:
- Young Panda
- Workplace Champions
- Future Makers
- Lifetime Achievement
- Education
- People’s Choice
The Awards night will be on the same night as Earth hour – March 26 – where the winners will be announced at a special event in Sydney.
