CO2 Australia has provided its methodology for the Carbon Farming Initiative for public comment, at the request of the Domestic Offsets Integrity Committee and the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency.
This methodology proposes to recognise as an eligible activity the reforestation of cleared land and afforestation on land where no forests previously existed in order to sequester carbon.
Interested parties have until 13 May 2012 to make submissions on the methodology proposal.
